What to Expect

Yoga
We have collected a variety of yogis and classes to keep you moving. There will be chair classes, vigorous vinyasa - and everything in between. The physical part of yoga makes our bodies strong, flexible, and long lasting. The body houses the soul, and we must keep it healthy. This event seeks to have a class for everyone, and we hope you check out as many as you can. All classes and teachers are unique. If you are new to yoga, let your teacher know and introduce yourself. We want the yoga here to leave you revived and refreshed!

Fire & Flow Arts
“Flow arts,” as defined by the Flow Arts Institute, describe the intersection of movement-based disciplines such as dance, juggling, fire spinning, and prop manipulation. Our event will have a flow zone where participants can interact with various props and experienced flow instructors and artists. Instructors will be on hand to provide both beginner and advanced skills guidance. In yoga practice it is necessary to light our inner fire in order to burn away what prevents us from realizing our true nature. Several fire artists will demonstrate and perform nightly. There will also be opportunities to learn fire safety and interact with fire props , as well observe or participate in a fire walking ceremony. Join us at the nightly bonfire for fellowship and music.

Live Music & DJs
Bring your instruments! Music is also a vital component of human existence. We have amplified music and DJs to entertain us at night, and encourage jam sessions and musical meet-ups throughout the weekend. We will also have a large group sound bath Friday night with smaller sessions on Saturday. There will be an African drumming class, drum circles, and several dance classes and opportunities throughout the weekend to experience music and move your body. Let the energy flow through you and make music with us.

Dharma Talks & Circles
In the context of yoga, “dharma talks” refer to short, inspirational teachings often on yoga philosophy. We are planning some classes with experienced yogis to talk about what yoga is and how it applies to one’s life and community. Take a break, sit back, listen and learn.
Community support is an important factor when it comes to dealing with difficult personal problems. Many of us suffer alone in silence without awareness of how common these struggles are, missing valuable opportunities to share our experience and hope. The talking circles are time to share and connect with others who have been there. The circles are open to everyone attending, space permitting. Please be respectful of others and keep their stories confidential. We will have a facilitator to keep the group running smoothly and help with resources if applicable. The groups are divided by topics that we feel are important currently in our community - grief, body dysmorphia/eating disorders, and substance abuse/harm reduction. Bring something comfortable to sit on.

Nature & Camping
Gnome Gardens has several acres of woods with a marked trail. We invite you to explore the gentle karst landscape and connect with nature. The venue is primitive and demands that we exist within the natural world. Every effort will be made for your comfort, but pack for the weekend mindfully anticipating the personal items you need for comfort. There are port-o-pots and one outdoor shower. This is the time to be natural and relax - gaze up towards the night sky, listen to frogs, forage for mushrooms, and frolic in wildflowers.

Healing & Wellness
Everyone is capable of finding their own physical, mental, and spiritual healing. Part of our life journey is self-discovery, or learning to inhabit bodies with limitations in a world of seeming uncertainty and suffering. In an ongoing quest to recondition ourselves, we have identified some practices as helpful. Here you will find experienced massage, sound, and other practitioners to help you along your way.

Artisan Market
We have collected artists of all kinds to share their wares with us. Check out the vending area for unique crafts, jewelry, flow props, fire wear, and other handmade goods. They are happy to share their knowledge about their craft with you, and encourage you on your own flow or art journey. Support local businesses and take home something special to remember the weekend.

Children Activities
Yoga is for families, and we invite you to bring the children. There is a children’s area with curated activities, classes, and performers. It is never too early to cultivate mindfulness and gain skills necessary for community. Please attend to the children and watch them at all times. This is a primitive venue and we all create a culture of safety.

Arts & Crafts
You will have the opportunity to participate in two group art projects as well as attend art sessions and create a personal craft. The dream catcher is a place to share your intention and inner vision to help create and weave the weekend we create together. Noah Childs will be helping with a large sacred geometry piece, please stop by the art area to participate. Art classes planned for the weekend include wire wrapping, spell jars, painting, sacred geometry, and flower/nature crowns. Creative expression is the language of the soul, and art is integral to yoga. Whether you are an accomplished artist or never even tried - we have something for you.
Please Note
The venue sits atop a ridge and hillside with a steep gravel driveway for access. It will be marked with signs during event weekends. Proceed directly up the hill unless directed otherwise. Most vehicles enter the property without difficulty, but we do not recommend RVs, trailers, or over-sized vehicles. Please reach out for options if this applies to you. Otherwise give it some gas, and meet us at the top.
No dogs, including ESAs, due to safety concerns. There are several livestock guardian dogs on adjacent properties and we have had incidents in the past. Leave your dog home please.
