Our
Mission
"Yoga helps us cure what need not be endured, and endure what cannot be cured."
- BKS Iyengar
This event was born from a small group of yogis with a desire to share the system of yoga and grow a community to support one another in healthy habits and practices. The practice of yoga itself emphasizes the interconnectedness of all beings and can recondition practitioners to recognize shared experiences and the impact that one’s actions have on others. We have a varied yoga background and are not affiliated with any particular studio or “type” of yoga. We believe that art and music are a part of yoga; they all invite us to slow down, wake up, and express what’s real—whether through breath, movement, color, or form. We welcome all yogis and would-be yogis to participate if they are called. Our mission is simply to share yoga in nature to grow strong individuals and groups. Namaste.
Meet the Team

Lisa Vish
In her late 20s, desperate to quit smoking tobacco, she impulsively purchased a VHS tape called Kundalini Yoga with Gurmukh. The very first time she practiced the kriya and breathwork, she felt something shift. Though she didn’t know it yet, the fire of yoga had been lit. She soon sought out local teachers and joined Yoga East in Louisville, KY in 2001. Since then, yoga has been an integral part of her life, serving as her first medicine for chronic physical and mental health challenges.
She continues a regular home practice and attends classes at Inner Warrior in Louisville when possible. Though now retired from regular teaching, she prefers to integrate yoga philosophy and tantra into everyday life as a path toward self-realization or enlightenment. She believes that we all came here to wake up—and that we are each capable of doing so.
In 2024, she had the opportunity to co-create The Moonshadow Fest with Star and witness the total solar eclipse. Seeing its positive impact on the community inspired them to create another event. This festival combines many of her passions—yoga, music, art, community, and nature. She is excited to help co-create the first-ever Indiana Yoga, Flow, & Fire Festival and to share her love of yoga as a vehicle to tissue-will perfection. She believes it’s never too late to begin a yoga practice—yoga truly is for everybody.

Star Stinson
Star Stinson (she/her) leads everything from website design and social media to visual branding and creative direction. With a background in art—including modular origami, stained glass, incense-making, and graphic design—she loves shaping the look, feel, and energy of the event. Before this festival, she was a producer and organizer of The Moonshadow Fest, where she and Lisa first discovered how beautifully they work together. That experience deepened her passion for building community and creating spaces where people can explore, play, and be themselves.
Yoga is a grounding practice for her—a way to soothe chronic body woes, ease anxiety, and return to center. She’s especially excited about this festival’s spirit of experimentation and all the ways it invites people to move, make, and connect.
You can usually find her wherever there are disco balls, dogs, or the pulse of West African drums.

Drawing from her personal experiences through trauma, grief, anxiety, and body reconnection, Grace holds a loving space with compassion and gentle power.
Her work is deeply influenced by her discovery of self through somatic practices, meditation, therapy, creative expression, philosophy, nature-based healing, and the insights of group healing. Grace’s circle invites participants into vulnerability, imagination, and self-honoring through breath, voice, and collective presence.
She believes deeply that healing is not linear but an ever evolving connection to one’s self.
Every Story, every Silence
every Triumph- Belongs.

Marti Straub
Marti Straub (she/her) is a vivacious space-holder and musical instigator, bringing rhythm, warmth, and laughter wherever she goes. Since 2019, she has been immersed in the study of traditional West African drumming and performs with the Aseye Ensemble. At the festival, she coordinates drumming and facilitates acoustic music spaces—offering welcoming, joy-filled environments where anyone can pick up a beat, strum a string, or simply soak in the sound.

A multi-instrumentalist who plays both guitar and ukulele, Marti creates spontaneous moments of connection through rhythm and melody. Whether she's leading a drum circle, sparking a late-night jam, or dancing with abandon at the front of the stage, her presence is magnetic and deeply encouraging.
With a prankster’s spirit and a heart for community, Marti helps weave together the playful, expressive energy that makes the festival pulse.

Jac Cornett
Jac Cornett (she/her) is a local artist based in Jeffersonville, Indiana and serves as the Art Coordinator for this event. Her creative journey began the moment she could hold a crayon, and she’s been exploring ever since. Jac works across a wide range of mediums—including sewing, crochet, jewelry, pottery, sculpting, drawing, and all forms of painting. Rather than sticking to a particular style or medium, she thrives on artistic exploration and self-expression in all its forms.

Outside the studio, Jac is passionate about caring for her beloved dogs and cats, and she’s often found chasing live music and good company. She’s thrilled to help shape a festival experience where everyone can tap into their creativity and awaken mind, body, and soul.

Tara Butler
Tara Butler and Lisa Vish met in a magical yogic moment by the fire at the Kentucky Yoga Festival several years ago. Since that time, they have maintained a connection sharing their passion for kundalini yoga, crochet and music festivals. Tara agreed to be an organizer for the first ever Indiana Yoga, Flow, and Fire Festival and is bringing her studio owner with her to provide an evening sound bath, kundalini kriya, sacred geometry asana, and a children’s yoga class. She is pleased to be joining us from her homebase of Bloomington, IN and looking forward to being a part of what we hope will become an Indiana tradition.

Abbie Guard
Hello! I'm Abbie. After many years of travelling around the country and the world, I am finally settled in Kentucky again- with my two dogs and my garden. My initial love of yoga sprung from a kundalini class a friend brought me to, and grew to attending a teacher training in India in 2023. My favorite asana class styles are ashtanga and yin. I love to write and play music, rock climb, hike, swim, and read. I am so grateful to get to serve my community in the form of this festival!
